Alien City is a virtual city in cyberspace of alien productions. It has been existed since 1991 at alien.mur.at/aliencity, is in the state of permanent changing, its look is in constant process of transformation through elements of diverse cities of this world. From time to time Alien City materializes itself at concrete locations into installations, performances and interventions to absorb the elements of these places and convert them into its appearance.
For EIKON SchAUfenster alien productions will open a real window with a view on the virtual city.

ILSE HAIDER: objects and photographs January 29 till April 10, 2011 Museum of Modern Art Rupertinum
Ilse Haider is this year’s winner of the Otto Breicha Prize for Photographic Art 2011.
The artist, who was born in Salzburg in 1965, questions the fundamental qualities of the photographic image in her works: surface, image carrier, mediality, subject matter. Her artistic language is based on a combination of photography and sculpture, of pictorial surface and three-dimensional space. Her works mainly explore traditional “female” and “male" role models and criticise gender stereotypes used in advertising and in everyday life.
