In order to be prepared with good reading material for a hot summer season EIKON proudly presents the latest issue EIKON #74 at the well-known design hotel Le Méridien Vienna on May 24. MARKUS SCHINWALD, the mastermind behind the conception of this year’s Austrian pavilion at the Venice Biennale, will be subject of discussion in the Artist Pages. Besides you will find out more about the artists LAUREL NAKADATE, NIKITA PIROGOV and HANS KUPELWIESER. In the Forum EVA SCHLEGEL, commissioner of the Austrian Pavilion at this year´s Venice Biennale, talks about her decision to invite the artist Markus Schinwald to create the Austrian contribution for the Venice Biennale 2011. Furthermore EIKON #74 provides an exciting feature about the festival and video fair "Loop" in Barcelona. We are pleased to invite you to the „Edition EIKON: Photography“ exhibition opening on May 24 at 7pm at Le Méridien Vienna. From the magazine’s foundation onward this is the first-time extensive exhibition displaying the limited Edition EIKON including photographic works by renowned national and international artists such as Eva Schlegel, Nan Hoover, Brian McKee, Thomas Florschuetz and Jan de Cock. The artworks will be exhibited and available for purchase from May 25 until August 17. Additionally the latest EIKON issue #74 will be presented at the opening on May 24. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
