EIKON issue #74 presentation at the Austrian Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2011

We are very pleased to announce the presentation of the latest issue EIKON #74 to be held tomorrow, June 1, 3 pm, at the Austrian Pavilion at this year´s Venice Biennale.

MARKUS SCHINWALD, the mastermind behind the conception of this year’s Austrian pavilion at the Venice Biennale, will be subject of discussion in the Artist Pages of the latest issue EIKON #74. Besides you will find out more about the artists LAUREL NAKADATE, NIKITA PIROGOVand HANS KUPELWIESER. In the Forum EVA SCHLEGEL, commissioner of the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2011, talks about her decision to invite the artist Markus Schinwald to create the Austrian contribution for the Venice Biennale. Furthermore EIKON #74 provides an exciting feature about the festival and video fair Loop in Barcelona.

Save the Date: EIKON 20th anniversary celebration on June 22, 2011

This year EIKON celebrates its 20th anniversary and invites you to an exciting event on June 22 at Leopold Museum Vienna.

Furthermore the winners of this year´s Europe-wide EIKON Photography Competition “Prohibitions in the Space of Art” will be awarded and the exhibition will be opened up.

Successful opening of the exhibition Edition EIKON: Photography

Last Tuesday the exhibition Edition EIKON: Photography opened at the well-known design hotel Le Méridien. From the magazine´s foundation onward this is the first-time extensive exhibition displaying the limited Edition EIKON including photographic works by national and international artists such as Eva Schlegel, Jürgen Klauke, Jordi Bernadó and Nan Hoover.
