Carmignac Gestion Phtojournalism Award
Einsendeschluss: 30.09.2012
With this award, the Carmignac Gestion Foundation has elected to support the wide‐ranging work of photojournalists, whose profession is experiencing a serious funding crisis. Every year, a 50,000 euro grant is awarded to fund the production of a reportage lasting several months on a specific subject, directly related to current affairs. The Foundation promotes the award through an exhibition and the publication of a monograph. It also purchases four photographs resulting from this assignment.
True to its humanistic approach, the Carmignac Gestion Foundation aims to provide these essential
witnesses to today's world with the resources to visit those areas neglected by the mainstream media, except during periods of conflict.
The selected areas are the stage for intense human suffering and often epicentres of extreme violence with global consequences. The proposed topic for the 2012 Carmignac Gestion Photojournalism Award is:
Chechnya
