“With this series of photographs, ORLAN has created a link between the “old” and the “new,” showing different times in the same space-time. She has blended a religious vocabulary with a profane sculptural vocabulary (like plastic) to highlight the underlying sensuality of religious iconography, taking up the lessons of the Baroque, which does not ask us to choose between good and evil.”
